Jilin City, October 30, 2023, — Chijet Motor Company, Inc. (NASDAQ: CJET) (the “Company” or “Chijet Motor”)’s holding subsidiary, FAW Jilin Automobile Co., Ltd., with the aim of ensuring top-tier process quality for their upcoming mass-produced products, nurturing skilled craftsmen, and fostering a culture of “learning through competition, and applying what you learn”, recently organized a Lean Production Employee Craft Skills Competition. The event, held in the assembly workshop, saw participation from representatives of all production lines.
The competition’s theme, “Carrying Forward the Craftsmanship Spirit to Deliver Exceptional Products”, resonated with all participants. In his pre-competition address, Executive Deputy General Manager Wang Yunfei emphasized: “A high-quality manufacturing system is the bedrock for producing top-notch goods. Lean manufacturing system should consistently enhance the development of multi-skilled talents, carry forward the spirit of craftsmanship, achieve ‘flexible production’, progressively enhance product quality, provide the necessary process assurance for new product launches, and craft exceptional products that bring the utmost satisfaction to consumers at scale.”
Lean Production, born from the Toyota Production System (A management philosophy developed by Toyota Motor Company), embodies the relentless pursuit of excellence by continuously eliminating all forms of waste throughout the entire production process. It encourages organizations to use “continuous improvement” as a vehicle for ongoing learning and progress.
FAW Jilin Automobile Co., Ltd. stands as one of the pioneers in China to adopt Toyota’s lean production principles. As early as 1981, the renowned Taiichi Ohno, the architect of the Toyota Production System, was invited to FAW to impart his knowledge, marking the inception of a comprehensive implementation of lean production methods. Through years of constant refinement, FAW has made significant strides in improving production efficiency and quality.
Within FAW Jilin’s welding workshop, a remarkable 167 robots carry out welding, handling, hemming, and other crucial processes, achieving a 100% automation rate on the primary welding line. By optimizing production processes within a digital ecosystem, real-time monitoring and analysis allow for the swift identification of bottlenecks and waste in manufacturing management, offering timely feedback and predictions. This, in turn, facilitates more data-driven and scientifically sound decision-making.
Chijet Motor acknowledges that carrying forward the spirit of craftsmanship and championing lean production is a long-term commitment, with the crux being a management philosophy rooted in a people-centered approach and a relentless pursuit of excellence. The thoughts and ideals of managers at all levels, alongside the training, education, and development of front-line employees, epitomize the outcome of ongoing enhancements.
As a trailblazer in the comprehensive application of exquisite and popular new energy vehicles (NEVs), Chijet Motor remains resolute in their commitment to “quality first”. They lead the company's transformation and advancement by upholding the spirit of craftsmanship and implementing lean production methodologies, all in the pursuit of crafting exceptional products.
